The experience

Narni isn't just visited. It's lived, like a medieval pilgrim. Riding your ebike, you set off from the ruins of Augustus' Bridge, where the Nera river runs emerald-green through Umbria's most spectacular gorges. You climb through woods and lit tunnels, cross the 14th-century walls and find yourself in the heart of the city that every May travels back to 1371 with the Corsa all'Anello — the Ring Race. Your guide tells the story of the three districts, the joust, the medieval secrets. Then the Rocca Albornoziana — and from above, the whole valley at your feet. The return runs along the river, down to the natural pools of Le Mole. History, nature, and the awareness of having seen an Umbria you won't find in any guidebook.

What you'll visit

Borgo

Stifone Village

Stifone

A small hill village on the banks of the Nera river with about 40 residents, famous for its crystal-clear waters shifting from emerald green to deep blue. Here lie the remains of Narni's ancient Roman port.

Storico

Campo de li Giochi — Corsa all'Anello

Narni

Heart of the Corsa all'Anello, the most distinctive medieval re-enactment in Umbria. Each year, the knights of the three districts of Mezule, Fraporta and Santa Maria compete at full gallop to spear a 6 cm ring with their lance. The race draws inspiration from the Statuta of 1371.

Naturalistico

Le Mole of Narni

Nera Montoro

A natural basin at the end of the Nera Gorges. Crystal-clear spring water in emerald tones, with a sunbathing area and picnic spot right by the river. The ideal end-point for a refreshing break after descending from the historic centre.
